Neat little monopod with the Docz feature.

Only annoyance is the head on it is quite large, and interferes with things you might attach that have bits that hang down, like a Manfrotto 323 quick release monopod adapter.
If you modify it (take the locking mechanism off) you can get it on, then if it happens to line up with one of the scallops, reinsert the lock mechanism screw. You may need a thin spacer to get it tight.

Having an optional spacer that fixes this problem, or a way to make the top smaller (an outer ring that detaches perhaps) would be helpful.

A great sturdy monopod that is also lightweight, ideal for travel.

it’s really comfortable to use nice grip,and the three legged foot makes it really easy you can use one of the feet to stand on it to help hold it steady, very good

Awesome. Supports my Z6iii & 180/600 lens with ease, taking the weight off handholding during a day in nature. It’s beautifully crafted and stunningly engineered. Lightweight to carry and packs down small fitting into side pocket of backpack. Looks fantastic and tremendous support from 3LT.

I bought this to use with a Nikon Z7ii and a Tamron 150-500 combo to shoot wild life its far so good. Monopod is sturdy well constructed and holds the camera/lens combo with no difficulties. Though I did add a ball head lens mount as an after thought.

It has also acted as a walking sticked and has helped me to get back on my feet on a couple of occasions.

Having spent a long day at a local RSPB site with a long lens waiting for kingfishers to fly I decided that I needed some help with holding the lens but didn’t want the faff of setting up a tripod every time I moved. Researching monopods the 3 Legged Thing Alana monopod provided just what I needed, a lightweight adjuvant to my long lens along with additional feet for stability if required. The price hit my budget and delivery was within a week so that I could return to the site as planned. I have been delighted with my purchase and use it regularly. One word of warning, check the tightness of the monopod foot as mine obviously has become loose and came off somewhere around the 7 miles I trod that day. I have purchased replacements since and my monopod is restored to normal. All in all a great purchase. I have since added a SpeediGimbal to it and in combination with the Alana this is an awesome combination giving you a lightweight and versatile photography accessory allowing easy and stable movement of your lens on a quality monopod.

I got to try the Alana monopod with the Docz base at a camera event about 4 months back and bought it instantly.

First off, the 3 legged thing tripods and monopods just look amazing! They have a look of personality and look less corporate/mechanical and actually looks like something you would want to carry. This includes the colours, the twist locks and every inch of the body.

Apart from just being pretty, Alana, when collapsed, is easy to carry, attached to small kit messenger bags, and fits in hand luggage, but when stretched, goes to a very decent height and I can even use my camera at my eye level at 6'3"!!
It can carry quite an impressive weight and using the Docz feet, I have even used it as a light stand to use a led light in a quick outdoor shoot in the rain!

Love this and it is now my go to when going out and about!

Purchased the Alana with Docz foot to support my R5ii and RF600mm F/4 lens when walking around nature reserves and fields as it is considerably lighter and easier to use than my tripod. I'm really pleased with it's build quality, sturdiness and stability, and love the flexibilty of the Docz foot. It also looks really cool (the grey version)!

I have been looking for a good, steady monopod and found it in the Alana Carbon Fibre Monopod. It's light and easy to carry and has a handy strap at the top to aid holding the monopod. I bought mine with the optional foot system and I would recommend anyone considering this monopod to get the feet as well. They fold up neatly when carrying and don't get in the way. This monopod matches the rest of my 3-legged gear perfectly.

What a solid piece of photo gear! Fittings are tight, as they should be, and the retractable camera mounting stud is an excellent feature. And the carbon fiber makes it light enough to carry in a pack or stow in checked luggage. Good price. Good buy.

Great looking tripod with lots of helpful features (changeable feet, the addition of stability with docz, good load capacity, inbuilt variable gauge attachment). For my travel use, something even lighter would be appreciated!

Needed a carbon fibre mono pod so I thought I would try 3leggedthing after reading reviews on Alan then 3leggedthing changed it to Alana so I ordered one and I was so glad I did Alana mono pod is so easy to use locks up well and easy to adjust I bought mine with the add on feet which I would also highly recommend

This monopod with the base is robust , easy to set up and carries lightly. I needed it for soccer matches when on the sideline or goal line seated to support the lens I use for extra length when the play is at the far end ! makes tracking and focusing at speed from a distance easy . I shall be using this a lot this season it takes the strain off my injured shoulder .

I so wish I had bought this before it is brilliant. So well made and easy to adjust, I did buy it with the feet which makes it so much easier to focus on just taking photos. Highly recommend.

I have had a good monopod for many years that has served me well. When I saw the advert for the Alana with the foot system I was intrigued. In the end I gave in to my desires and bought one. Like the other items I have bought from this company the Alana is a work of art in its own right. It is well designed, robust and does the job. I use some quite heavy equipment and this holds it without difficulty. It feels really good in the hand and is so easy to adjust. To say it looks so bulky it is very light to carry and a joy to use. I am delighted with it.

Tripod is compact, lightweight and great for long distance hiking. Definitely would recommend

I wanted a monopod just to keep with me in the car for when I spot wildlife I can quickly attach my big lens and keep things simple and steady.

First things first I had looked around for a lightweight Monopod for a while and was pointed in the direction of 3 Legged Thing by a member of my son collage staff.

Once I looked into this further, I contacted the sales team for assistance, asking various questions which they answered fully. As my main use is with Football, Motorsport I knew it had to be Durable, light, long lasting and able to withstand being used in various weathers conditions, no fair weather photography.

I ordered the Alana with the additional kit and it arrived a few days later, the ease of setup great, design and simplicity was was obvious, and it worked great with my Cannon 7D and 1DX. With the added feet it has made taking picture pitch side so much easier less movement in the image and perfect adjustability, when moving around trackside it takes the added weight of a 800 prime lens with camera easily.

I plan on buying a second one now my son is heading into his second year and would highly recommend one of these to anyone looking for a versatile Monopod

I've owned monopods and tripods from everyone from Slik to Manfrotto. While searching for a tripod for an upcoming Kenya/Tanzania shoot, I came across 3LT. I decided to give their Alana a try. Glad I did. Action is silky-smooth. Weight is great. I love the Docz option for a little extra stability. I bought this and the AirHed Pro Lever and so far, this is my go-to monopod/ball head combo. Great work, 3LT!!
