It's a real game changer, gone are the days of fiddling with set up and tripod configuration, now I can easily change from portrait to landscape whilst keeping the tripod in the same position. The bracket is super strong, providing an extra level of damage protection plus it looks really cool. A great investment which is worth every penny.

Having never used an L-bracket before let alone hearing about one I did some research. Back in the dark ages when there was limited choice of tripods available there was limited option to mount the camera and to perform portrait shots meant having to precariously balance the camera on its side, hoping and praying the tripod head wouldn't decide to deposit camera and lens on the ground. I have come close to laying eggs relying on flimsy tripods rather than investing in some solid kit.
Fast forward 50 years and I'm now getting back into photography with a passion.
Having seen various amateurs and pros using an L-bracket and realising that you don't need to move the head but use the bracket in portrait mode was the decider for me.
True there are many brackets available on the market and not everyone will agree on one definitive brand. I was also sceptical about this bracket as I was unsure that it would be suitable for my camera, considering it does not cover the full length of the soleplate. But those clever bods at 3LT would have thought of that, with all the measuring and the like and so I have put my trust in them and bought the Ellie L-Bracket.
The bracket is beautifully engineered, surprisingly light and looks the part. It is unobtrusive when fitted and sturdy.
Oh and the little extras like the key and pouch add an extra flourish.
It won't make me a better photographer but as sure as eggs is eggs and men have aching feet it will go a long way in achieving that aim.

I'm a novice photographer, still am. A couple of years ago in order to improve my photography skills/knowledge, I started to read various books on how to become a better photographer. I never heard of a camera L-Bracket until I came across the item in one of the self help books. The author recommended a L-Bracket as it was quick to switch from a landscape position to portrait when using a tripod. He also stated using a L-Bracket is more sturdier in the portrait position than just having the camera in the tripod's ball head's portrait position which puts the camera's weight on one side of the tripod. Prior to my last trip I purchased an All In One Lens which is quite heavy and long when fully zoomed out. I found that the author was correct and my camera and lens looked like it would tip over due to the camera's and lens's weight. The author in his L-Bracket segment recommended 3 Legged Thing's L-Brackets. So I began my search for a 3 Legged Thing L-Bracket at the time. 3 Legged 's website allowed me to target the L-Bracket which would fit my camera easily. As an oversea 's customer, I tried to find the appropriate L-Bracket locally to avoid currency exchange fees and international shipping charges but no camera shop locally or nationally carried it. I tried a very large camera shop in USA. Both the local shops and the USA shop had it on back order but after 1 year the local shops and the USA shop all sent me an email advising they no longer will be carrying the item. After my last trip's experience using my camera and lens without a L-Bracket I decided to buy directly from 3 Legged Thing online. The heck with the currency exchange fees and international shipping charges. Camera safety is priority. Over the years looking into L-Brackets for my camera, I had contacted their customer support several times with various questions. They were all answered quite promptly and expertly by Neil. My purchased was received in 7 days after I placed my order. I was able to track its progress throughout its journey. 3 Legged Thing's website is excellent with its compatibility visual chart and under its FAQs section I was able to view my L-Bracket's manual/instructions to see if I had assembled my bracket correctly. I tested out the L-Bracket and the camera and with its All In One lens was much sturdier in both the landscape and portrait positions on the tripod. The bracket is very well made with quality material. I wanted the greyish color bracket but it was sold out so I had to settle for the copper color. I'm glad I did, the copper color bracket gave my black camera an amazing contrast and looks sharp. Highly recommend 3 Legged Thing L-Brackets and other products in their product line.

Simple, effective, beautifully designed and scrumptious

I have the Ellie on my Canon Rebel T7 and it fits really well! I've used it for a few years and never had an issue accessing the battery/memory card. It has been a great addition to the camera for this hobbyist photographer!

I've been a keen photographer for many years, when I got married & had children I sold my Canon 1Ds and associated Canon L lenses. I have now just purchased a Canon 5D mk 4 which I love. I looked around for accessories for mounting the camera to a tripod for quick release & came across 3 Legget Thing & I thought what a great name for a company so investigating further found the Ellie bracket which fitted all my requirements quick release portrait/landscape in a moment so I purchased one in black as I didn't want to standout, wish I got the Orange one now to show people this great bracket. I also use this bracket for my microphone when setting up the speakers on my home cinema system. I would recommend this bracket to anyone thinking of buying one ‘you will never look back', just need to save for one of there tripods now, it will take time as I'm now retired. 10 stars from me.

Treated myself to a new Nikon D780. Needed a new "L" bracket to go with it. After a lot of research I decided to get an Ellie PD in grey / green. Delighted with my purchase. At first blush, a tad expensive BUT you get what you pay for.....an extremely well designed and engineered piece of kit that works very well and will probably last me a very long time. Plus it fits a Peak Design clip that hopefully I will get round to buying soon. Thank you 3 Legged Thing.

Excellent bracket. Well constructed. Works quite well on my OM-1

I ordered two Ellies, one for a Nikon D750 and one for a Pentax K-1ii. They are well designed and well made. Both installed easily and work exactly as they should. My order was processed promptly, and even with shipping from England to the mid-west USA it arrived quickly.

Bought this over a year ago for use with my EOS-R and Peak Design Capture clip. Stays on the camera almost all the time. Replaced a previous model that did not allow as good access to the ports or tilting screen. I would still like to be able to tilt the rear screen more, but that is a minor quibble. Ellie and the Capture Clip are a great combination.

Perfect for the 100V no extra bulk and lightweight without sacrificing quality.

Believe it or not, this is my first time using an L-bracket system. Not sure how I managed without it in the past! Ellie is strong, secure and quite adaptable. Most useful purchase in a long time.

Got the Ellie for my D850 Nikon, fit great. The L bracket make the change from Vertical to horizontal so much easier, and quicker. Great product at a great price.

I used the Ellie l bracket in my Nikon D780 for the last few years. It's light, has no flex and is very secure. I found 0 faults and under heavy use it's never had an issue.

Well, what more can I say, it fit my Canon 5ds fine, and now fits my Sony A7rIV like a glove.
Other than the fit, all I can say is it's SOLID!

I was looking for a L bracket for my Olympus EM 1 Mark III. I had the base bracket from RRS. Couldn't buy just buy the L attachment from them. ..and spending $200 was out of the question. So I started looking looking for options. Glad I did. The Ellie short fit perfectly and the added Peak Design option was a dream come true. The quality was equal to RRS at less than half the price. Very pleased with this purchase. Highly recommend it.

This isn't a good fit on a Sony A7CII. While the use plate fits OK, the vertical portion prevents the memory card access door from opening. To open the door you need to slide the vertical portion out of the way. That is hardly convenient, as you would need to loosen teh slide screws every time.

Without a dedicated bracket for my OM-5, my options were limited for portrait-orientation tripod shots - but Ellie came to the rescue!
Even with OM System's extension grip added to the OM-5, Ellie fits beautifully around the OM-5, except for the strap mounting point (but that's not a fault with Ellie!).

I bought this bracket for my Canon 5D Mk3. Although the 3 Legged Thing help menu said that this may obstruct the battery doors and access to the side connections - it actually fits fine and I have full access to everything.

The bracket is well made, cosmetically attractive and very adjustable (once you figure out what the different screws adjust).

I had not invested in an L bracket before, but I bought this one and it is really great to help me hold the camera steady. The bright colour helps me too because my Sony camera is very dark and can blend in, but the L bracket means I can grab it the right way up everytime.

I was very impressed with the quality of the L bracket. Very easy to fit and adjust.
However, I intended to use it on a Nodal point rail. Using a wide angle lens, the front of the rail was in the frame so I thought the L bracket would solve this. Unfortunately, even with the two adjustable rails fully extended, the bracket was still not long enough to raise the camera body in portrait mode so regrettably, I returned it for a refund.

I needed a new L-Bracket for my Nikon D500. I previously had a 3LT QR11 L-Bracket which was great, but either covered the battery door, or was quite a way out from the body (That is also an excellent L-Bracket). Ellie's compatibility with the D500 is excellent and I thoroughly recommend it for those that want one for the same camera.
