3 Legged Thing has announced a new range of Arca-Swiss compatible long release plates designed for many types of content creator. Ultra Plates are available in 4 lengths from 150mm to 300 mm (6–12"). 3LT designed them to allow photographers and videographers to mount multiple items on to a single plate including cameras, microphones, monitors, and lights. They can also be used with scopes and binoculars for wildlife work.

Ultra Plates take the classic long release plate design and revolutionise them to create a multifunctional platform for many aspects of photography and content creation. Made from beautifully anodised aerospace-grade magnesium alloy, Ultra Plates boast several features that content creators can use with their unique camera gear and accessory setups.

The Ultra Plates see the introduction of an innovative "Arca Square" at one end of the plate, giving users the ability to seamlessly transition 90 ¡ without adjusting the tripod or head, and offering more versatility with mounting directions and balance.
The extended screw slot enables infinite fine-tuning and adjustment when attaching to a camera, providing optimal connection opportunities and enhanced stability. With precision lasered measurements down each side, users have the perfect visual accompaniment to optimise load balancing.
Ultra Plates feature multiple ¼â€-20 and 3/8"-16 screw threads for accessory attachment. These can be affixed both on the upper and lower surfaces providing maximum versatility when mounting accessory arms and threaded attachments.
There's a cold-shoe mount with tapered slopes enabling smooth and easy attachment of flashguns and lights that feature pins on the underside. The standard cold-shoe socket is also perfect for microphones, lights and magic arms that utilise cold-shoe connectivity.
The most striking feature of the brand new Ultra Plates is the beautifully machined cable management hook. Design to organise USB, HDMI and jack cables from the side or rear of cameras, the CMH also prevents unwanted disconnects and potential socket damage if cables are caught or tugged in situ.
To ensure a secure connection to cameras and lenses, the Ultra plates have a ¼â€-20 Stainless Steel camera screw. With rubber grip pads along the length of the plate to improve adhesion, the underside of the Ultra Plate also houses two stainless-steel safety screws.
Ultra Plates are tactile and skin friendly, with smooth, chamfered edges that won't catch on fabrics when stored in camera bags or luggage.
Ultra Plates will be available in 3 Legged Thing's signature colours; Copper (Orange) and Darkness (matte black).
