Following on from the huge success of their Roxie dedicated L-bracket for the Canon R5 and R6, 3 Legged Thing is excited to announce Riley, a brand new Arca-Swiss compatible L-bracket designed specifically for the Canon EOS R7 APS-C mirrorless camera.

Formed from aerospace-grade magnesium alloy, Riley is a robust single-piece L-bracket that is contoured to perfectly fit the body of the Canon EOS R7 and give users full access to the battery door and side ports. Riley is also one of the new dedicated L-brackets to feature a QD (quick detach) port in the base.

"We had numerous requests from customers to create an L-bracket for the EOS R7," said Stuart Boston, Chief Operating Officer, 3 Legged Thing. "We're grateful to the team at Canon UK who gave us access to the camera so we could develop Riley and ensure it fits perfectly. We've also listened to user feedback and added a QD port for use with quick-detach straps and other compatible accessories. We are beginning to add QD ports to a variety of L-brackets and quick release plates, with more to come throughout 2024."

L-brackets are designed to enable quick switching from portrait to landscape orientation and vice versa, whilst maintaining the same focal plane and keeping the weight of the camera above the tripod's central, most stable point.

In addition to this key functionality, the Riley L-bracket features additional mounting points on the base and upright for accessory arms, allowing users to add lights, monitors and other accessories on to their cameras. This is particularly useful for macro and product photographers, time-lapse creators and video makers.

The vertical aspect of Riley has a perfectly placed cut-out that enables users to open and tilt the rear screen on the EOS R7 to aid with composition at various heights.

Riley's base features a small lip at the front of the camera to stop the L-bracket from twisting when attached to the camera. The base also includes the QD (quick detach) port. The end of the base also features a slot for the attachment of camera straps.

Users of Peak Design's Capture (v3) clip system will also be able to use Riley with their Capture clips thanks to the robust glass-reinforced nylon PD adapter and long-pass thru screw supplied in the box.

Available in 3 Legged Thing's signature L-bracket colours – Copper (orange) and Darkness (matte black), Riley is available starting today from 3LeggedThing.com and all good 3LT retailers. To find your nearest store, visit 3LeggedThing.com/where-to-buy. Suggested retail price for Riley is £89.99 / US $99.99.
