3 Legged Thing Launches Twin-Legged Video Tripods Hugh & Jude and AirH

New tripods give videographers and content creators robust carbon fibre and magnesium alloy support systems, paired with a precision bowl-mount fluid head.

3 Legged Thing has announced three new additions to its video range. Hugh is a carbon fibre 3-section twin-legged video tripod with 75 mm bowl mount; Jude is its magnesium alloy counterpart; and the AirHed Motionis an advanced fluid video head with 75mm bowl for precise levelling. Both tripods are available in kits or as tripod only, and the Motion is also available separately. All three products are priced competitively for content creators and filmmakers on a budget.

Hugh is 3 Legged Thing’s first carbon fibre twin-legged tripod. Made from premium Japanese 3K weave carbon fibre, Hugh weighs just 1.8 kg / 3.97 lb, but supports up to 30kg / 66 lb of camera gear. Its 3-section legs extend using a twist mechanism, and the mid-level support brace expands to alter the leg angles, as well as providing structural integrity. Hugh has a maximum extended height of 1.52 m / 59.84”, and 1.61m / 63” with the AirHed Motion kit.

The tripod features removable rubber feet with integrated stainless steel spikes, ensuring a secure footing in a studio, or on location.

Made from aerospace grade magnesium alloy, Jude has the same core feature set as Hugh, but is priced a little lower, and is slightly heavier at 2.3 kg / 5.07 lb. This extra weight can provide additional stability in windy conditions.

Designed to perfectly pair with Hugh or Jude, the AirHed Motion is an advanced 75mm bowl mount fluid video head. The bowl mount enables precision levelling, while whisper-smooth pan and tilt controls, combined with graduated drag adjustment, allow for smooth cinematic motion.

The AirHed Motion has a detachable panning arm that can mount on either side of the head for right or left-handed use. It is supplied with a 501-style standard video quick release plate. The head has a load capacity of up to 5kg / 11lb.

Hugh, Jude and the AirHed Motion are available individually, or together in two tripod kits; Hugh with the AirHed Motion, or Jude with the AirHed Motion. Buying tripod and head together offers even better value. All tripod options include a padded carry bag with handle and shoulder strap.
