PUNKS Billy 2.0 Tripod System

I never used to carry a tripod. Too large and heavy.

I eventually caved but wanted something that fit the bill. Luckily the carbon fibre Billy is a GREAT lightweight tripod, it inverts, comes in a case, can go low and high and is really beautifully built.

Bonus points for being really useful when I used to hold a laser level doing house renovations too. Overkill but it made moving the level to mark up the datum points so easy.

I’d buy another straight away if mine broke or got stolen.

I bought the first version of the Billy during the pandemic. Besides be a very practical and portable tripod what I really like about it is the aesthetics. If I have a nice looking vintage camera why not also have a nice looking tripod. Highly recommended.

I love my punk billy - not only is it a great tripod, it's a great monopod and though looks are definitely not everything, I do love that it's a also a thing of beauty.

I bought this tripod with the AirHed Trinity head for my wife to go with a new bird spotting scope. She loves the carbon fibre tripod which is lightweight for her to carry, but super strong and stable. With the Trinity head it makes a perfect combination for birdwatching.

I have to make a big shout out to Neil from the 3LT Support Team. There was a problem with my original order, but Neil got straight in contact with me and sorted things out to my satisfaction. No messing around and he made sure that I still got my next day delivery.

I've got lots of 3LT kit and they've never let me down.

Was looking for a tripod to replace a reliable but heavy Redsnapper aluminium tripod. Was somewhat sceptical that something which weighed nearly 0.5kg less could be as solidly built, but a photography contact of mine had one and said they were great so I bit the bullet and tried it.

So far, really impressed. The 0.5kg less makes a real difference when walking to location and it feels just as steady under load. It's also impressively tall given how small it folds up.

No current worries about durability either as it seems very well put together.

All in all, a great travel / all round tripod hybrid

Well on the ying out a tripod at brands hatch and great advice from Stuart & Alison I brought the billy tripod, and now that I have used it twice what a great bit of kit I now have, it's so light strong and very well made it was the best move I have done, I'm looking forward to putting it through its paces in Africa along with the Taylor mono pod.

So far I love the Punks Billy and it totally exceeds my expectations. It came nicely packaged with robust bag and strap. The tripod is exceedingly light yet appears to be very strong and robust. The leg locks are easy to operate and hold the legs securely in position. It's simple to convert the tripod into a monpod. The Swiss Arca system has a firm hold on the camera and it worked really well with my 150-600mm lens. I'm really delighted with the tripod.

This gadget/tool/superhero does everything you could want from a tripod. Run don't walk to buy one!

I have only recently purchased the PUNKS Billy, but so far it is exceeding expectations. I had what I thought was a good tripod fail me miserably while photographing the annular eclipse in the US (fortunately I got the eclipse shot before it failed). Upon return I did a lot of research and settled on the Billy. It feels much sturdier than the old tripod and the head is much smoother and easier to operate. I'm hoping this reviews holds as I put Billy through future grueling photographic adventures.
