The award-winning tripod maker is adding a Quick Detach (QD) port to its Nikon Z8 L-bracket.
3 Legged Thing is excited to announce an updated version of its best-selling Nikon Z8 L-bracket, Zooey. Following a fantastic reception from customers, the initial batch of products sold out quickly. One request that 3LT received from many customers was to incorporate a QD (quick detach) port into their L-brackets.
Happy to respond to customer suggestions to improve their products, 3 Legged Thing has redesigned Zooey to add the QD port to this Arca-Swiss compatible L-bracket, and this now enables users to attach their QD-connected camera straps and other devices to the L-bracket's base.
"Very shortly after launching Zooey in 2023, a number of customers asked us whether we'd considered introducing QD Ports to our L-brackets, so we did a little research, and discovered that QD ports are used in so many applications, including by NASA to tether loads into rockets. We immediately amended the design. The good news is that we've managed to retain all of the original functionality with the Arca-base and PD adapter, and the camera-hugging contours, but the additional QD has given us the most connective L-bracket in the world for the Nikon Z8. The new Zooey QD L-bracket boasts all the features of its best-selling predecessor including battery door and side port access, a rubber bumper on the inside of the vertical, for extra stability in portrait orientation, plus multiple ¼â€-20 and 3/8"-16 threads for the attachment of accessories. Zooey QD is supplied with a Peak Design Capture (v3) compatible adapter, made from strong and durable glass-reinforced nylon. It is accompanied by a long pass-thru camera screw that joins the adapter to the plate and attaches to the camera.
Made from robust, aerospace-grade, magnesium alloy with Stainless Steel fixings, Zooey QD is now available in 3 Legged Thing's signature colours Copper, and Darkness (matte black).
