I think the use of three piddly screws to hold the plate or bowl a weakness. Must be a better system. Assume it will break / screws will strip. Constricter collar must be stronger. When it all falls over, you know you will wreck your rig. Canon and Nikon expect it. Tripod at least, should only suffer cosmetic wounds.
I have no desire for a column but an upper leg brace system, even as an option would be reassuring. Back to the thin legs.
I would not use a leg as a mono pod sans grip. I shall be installing a foot of 3M cold shrink on one of these legs. Not pretty but the go to, with or without proper Hypalon underneath, for serious boat rods. West coast Rail rods for example. Heavy and industrial but the best.
3M Cold Shrink 8428-12 (49.3mm Dia. x 305mm Length).
On virtually all my boat rods. Very easy to fit. No tools. Position. Pull out the plastic support. Job done. Anti fray tape, optional. Never used it.

Fitting tall SS feet, a table tripod to make. If you must.
Would prefer 3 x stubby carbon legs. Say a foot. Again, 3/8" 16 tpi UNC.
1/4" 20 tpi UNC is for toys.
My rigs are either large format or a x 2 tandemed Novoflex BAL-PRO bellows, back to back, screwed to a massive Haejar plate and coupled with a bespoke double male spigot connector. Some tilt and slide is usually fitted.
Fujinon T F:12/600mm on one end, Fuji GX body or 'Blad back on the other.
Heavy of course and very dumbelly.
Both fit my double U gimbals,. The Manfrotto ugly ones, pimped and ARCA Swiss converted.
I do not like your bowl mount adapter locking grip. A T grip would have been so much better.

Better than my Manfrotto 075 Pro. at £55? Probably not.
Lighter? Yes.
A more modern system so less of a balls ache? Yes.
Worth £700+? Absolutely not.
Worth circa £500? Remains to be seen.

I just don't know where to start with this tripod. I've upgraded from Travis to Winston to Mike and now I have Tommy it's gorgeous. It's like the payload that you can hold the accessories you could put with it it's very modular and I hope it serves me well in many landscapes, holidays. The one feature I do like is the open flat base that you can put any ball head or camera head on safe to say it will look after it well and truly.

Just bought an ex-demo Tommy tripod description could be scratched, damaged or missing parts. So expecting same slight damage, was surprised and over the moon to find the tripod looked brand new. Haven't had time to try on location but have put up attached gimbal and camera and feels solid you don't need to worry that your equipment is safe. The tripod itsself is massive and very appealing to the eye. For its size it is actually very light . They do another tripod in the same range The Nicky which is more compact(more sections) but I chose stability over compactness. I would recommend this tripod whole hearted. I chose 3lt because I already own 2 other tripods so know that quality, design is outstanding and customer service is impeccable having an issue with a breakage of a part of my oldest tripod. Delivered in a couple of day free of charge. You cant go wrong with a 3LT. One happy Chicken. Ratings only Go's to five I would definitely rate 3LT much higher
