Its square base means it mounts into any Arca-Swiss head in four directions, giving L-bracket users true vertical mounting without awkward sideways setups. Need to attach monitors, magic arms, or lights? A 3/8"-16 thread lets you mount accessories with ease, turning your clamp into a quick-release hub for your gear.

And because we know that safety matters, Ultra Clamp includes a built-in security catch to prevent accidental releases. It's very close to be perfect, although it needs a some slight adjustments for that. I've used it for a couple of weeks and it's already showing some signs of metal to metal contact and wear. If you're a hobbyist then this will probably be fine for you but as a working professional this need to be just a little more durable and robust. I've mentioned to 3LT my concerns and the tolerances of the lever and the clamp on that side need to be tweaked just a bit in my opinion. I use multiple plates with different tolerances and so being able to quickly and easily adjust and have a locking lever clamp are really nice. A better quality material and heavier duty application in the lever would also make a nice difference. I would pay twice the price for something that ticked those boxes, even if the weight went up a little. Size wise it's bang on the money.

I really like the ultra clamp, I wish it natively fit on my Travis v1 head, and not mounted in the existing clamp. However it still works great, especially with my Zadie L-Bracket!
