Stagsden, Bedfordshire, UK – 16 September, 2026 – British tripod manufacturer 3 Legged Thing has announced Lexie QD, a new universal L-bracket designed to offer photographers and content creators an adaptable solution for a wide range of camera bodies.
Because, unfortunately, one size doesn’t always fit all.

Combining an extendable, adjustable base with a sliding camera screw slot, Lexie QD can be configured to optimise the fit for individual camera bodies, while helping to maintain access to side ports and terminals.
Lexie QD is also 3 Legged Thing’s first universal L-bracket to feature a built-in stainless steel QD (quick detach) socket, allowing direct connection to the company’s AXIS camera straps and other compatible QD accessories. This gives photographers an easy way to move between tripod-mounted and handheld shooting without removing the bracket.
“Dedicated L-brackets are a great solution when there’s one available for your camera, but with the sheer number of camera bodies out there, that isn’t always possible,” said Stuart Boston, Chief Operating Officer at 3 Legged Thing. “Lexie QD gives photographers an adjustable alternative, but we didn’t want to stop there. Adding QD and XPAND compatibility makes it much more than just an L-bracket, and gives people plenty of options for building a setup that works for them.”

Adjustable by design
Lexie QD’s base can be extended from 9.4 cm to 12.4 cm, while its sliding camera screw slot enables the camera position to be adjusted forwards or backwards. Together, these features allow users to tailor the bracket to their camera and create additional room around side ports for cables and tethering.
The vertical aspect features a cable management cut-out that can be positioned in four different positions by detaching, inverting and flipping the upright. So, whichever way your cables insist on going, there’s a good chance Lexie can accommodate them.
Two 1/4”-20 accessory threads in the vertical allow monitors, lights and magic arms to be mounted directly to the bracket, while grippy rubber pads on the base help keep the camera securely positioned and prevent twisting.

Get your QD strap on
A built-in stainless steel QD socket in Lexie QD’s base connects directly with 3 Legged Thing’s AXIS camera straps and other compatible QD accessories.
It means photographers can switch from tripod-mounted shooting to carrying their camera on a strap quickly and easily, without needing to remove the L-bracket first.

Build it bigger with XPAND
XPAND connection slots at both ends of Lexie QD’s base allow it to become part of a larger camera rig using 3 Legged Thing’s XPAND Cheese Plates, Risers and Connectors.
Add a monitor. Add a light. Add a magic arm. Build something elaborate enough to worry the person standing next to you. Lexie QD gives users the connection points to build a setup around the way they shoot.
Lexie QD is compatible with standard 38 mm / 1.5” Arca-Swiss clamps, allowing photographers to switch between landscape and portrait orientation while maintaining the camera’s position over the tripod.
The bracket weighs 92 g / 3.2 oz and has a vertical height of 8.4 cm / 3.3”.
Lexie QD is supplied with a 1/4”-20 stainless steel Stagsden camera screw, and a Mini Toolz dual-ended hex tool for adjustments.

Lexie QD is available now from 3LeggedThing.com and all good retailers with a suggested retail price of £49.99 / US$59.99 / €62.00.
